Jamie Carr, radio personality, comedian and host of Come Dine With Me Canada, might as well add culinary critic and chef to his resume. After narrating three seasons of W's hilarious hit series, he's learned a thing or two about the Dos and Don'ts of cooking and entertaining.
The show has seen wannabe chefs prepare Parisian dishes, elaborate homemade desserts and five-part appetizers in earnest efforts to impress their guests (oh yeah, and to win $1000).
As for Jamie, he likes to keep it simple: seafood, grilled corn and homemade mojitos while listening to Summertime by Louis Armstrong and Fitzgerald are his seasonal vices.
But none of these compare to his finger-licking-good barbecue marinade. Slather it on your steaks (or chicken, or ribs) for your next backyard party.
With ginger, sesame and a hint of garlic, we guarantee you and your guests will love this all-purpose seasoning.
As for the rest of the meal? If it's a flop, take Jamie's advice: "What you lack in cooking or hosting skills you should make up with wine pouring skills." And when in doubt, "Even if you didn’t make it from scratch lie and say you did." It'll make your guests more forgiving of their burnt meat and mediocre meal.
